Today is a new day
Being overweight is a drag! I don’t care really if it’s 10 pounds or 200 pounds, it has to feel just lousy for everyone involved. I want to lose about 35 pounds. It would be nice to say that where this came from is a mystery, but that would by lying! Sixteen years ago I weighed in at about 40 pounds less than I do today. In this time I had my “last” baby (which I let go to my head, and I gained more than I should have), and I’ve struggled with a total yo-yo syndrome ever since. I’ve lost and gained the same 20 pounds over and over during the past 13 years, and it’s got to stop!
I’ve done more “diets” than I probably can enumerate here. But they include Weight Watchers, Nutrisystem, Atkins, South Beach, Master Cleanse Diet, calorie counting, the list goes on. And I’m sure that each and every one of these diets has worked for SOMEONE. Indeed, I’ve had moderate success with most of them. But it’s time to try something new.
A colleague has recommended Medifast to me. I’m working with a coach affiliated with Take Shape for Life. Only time will tell if this time I’ll make it, but if anything is certain, I’m not getting any younger, and this will only become more difficult if I don’t just DO IT!
So, armed with new goodies, books and support, I’m starting a new path to a slimmer me! Hopefully this blog will help me track my progress, and perhaps even assist others in taking this step as well!
